But typically the polar vortex weakening is good news for us if we want cold arctic air and snow if I'm not mistaken. Usually it allows the arctic air to dive south, either SW or SE. We want it go SW, which it sometimes does and sometimes doesn't. Time will tell.

It was pouring in Coquitlam yesterday evening. Burke guage wrung out a solid 36.8mm with this latest system. Monthly now up to 185.6mm with all of it falling in last 2 weeks. Way below average for the month but nowhere near record breaking and i doubt anyone gonna be talking drought with those numbers even though Burke guage is at the upper end of rainfall totals due to it being on a mountainside. Goes to show that even in what is considered a drier than average November, it's not really that "dry". Plus we had the wet September and not exactly a dry October. We are fine. I was worried at the beginning of the month though. Glad things changed.

This is obviously the driest November since 2014 there. 2019 is gonna be the driest year since 2014, by far!

100.2 mm here in November.

I'm still under 1000 mm for the year... I can't recall another year like that.
