Despite it still being only 5C around 1:30 this afternoon, I managed to hit a high of 12C once the sun came out and winds calmed.

I was surprised there weren't any wind warnings, maybe I missed them. I was on the ferry about to leave Horseshoe Bay and heard parts of the announcements on the Nanaimo bound ferry including 95 km/hr winds, make sure your parking brake is on, etc. As I watched her depart I felt like I was watching the Titanic sail off. Checked their Departures/Arrivals page and saw this: Weather delay. Strong winds. Departure as soon as it is safe.

Our route H Bay to Langdale is very sheltered so no problems there. Met a friend and his son on board and they were raving about the Deep Cove donuts, will have to put that on my to do list one of these trips.

Unlike many on here, I had sunshine all day for my travels through to Burnaby and at home. Quite windy at home and at times during the day but no precip except a few drops.

Looks like we will end April with nearly 200mm of rain at the North Coquitlam station. Hope to see a nice dry stretch with several 20C+ days soon.
