Re: June 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
Let me see, you don't have young kids , you don't fish , there's no swimming or hiking at Kentucky lake , so what's the fascination with camping there? Roasting marshmallows and wieners ? Standup paddleboarding? I personally would get bored if I wasn't fishing and/or hiking. I realize some people are quite content with just reading a book by the campfire all day long...not for me.Sardisbcwx wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 6:05 pm Enjoy your camping adventure Ty my man mine is next week can harddly wait.
Actually maybe there is a trail along one side of the lake.

Re: June 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
Wait... so there was actually a Severe Thunderstorm Warning* for Abbotsford yesterday evening? As far as I know, not a rumble of thunder was observed, let alone anything severe. Fail.
*A warning means that severe thunderstorms are either imminent or occurring.

Re: June 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
There were severe storms heading North off the cascade foothills yesterday but they moved on through fast and died off. Maybe that's why the severe warning. Doesn't EC know that thunderstorms avoid SW BC at all costs? . Speaking of thunderstorms the I-5 corridor through Washington and Oregon is popping right now. Portland Oregon has been bombarded. 2 days in a row now!Abby_wx wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 8:20 pm Wait... so there was actually a Severe Thunderstorm Warning* for Abbotsford yesterday evening? Re: June 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
Yeah, I could certainly see why they issued a "watch", as there were thunderstorms in the area... I just didn't understand why they upgraded it to warning. I did check the radar a few times, and it was pretty clear even to a layman that those storms were dying off as they moved westward. I had pretty much stopped paying attention before I saw that a warning had been issued.Coquitlam79 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 8:40 pm There were severe storms heading North off the cascade foothills yesterday but they moved on through fast and died off. I get email alerts whenever watches/warnings are issued, which is a great way to keep track of the ones I miss. The warning was issued at 7:51 pm and ended at 8:16 pm, so it didn't last long. I hadn't been paying attention, so I was surprised to see that a warning had actually been issued.

Re: June 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
Exciting day up here, it actually rained here this morning, had about 1" in some buckets but it cleared up early morning and reverted to cloudy with sunny periods. The campfire ban was averted and there were several power outages, a power pole on fire (transformer) and trees or branches down on the wires.
Forecast is for 'a few showers' and 'chance of showers' which so far has meant no rain. Anyone have a different take on it?

Re: June 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
It was issued for Chilliwack before 6p.m. the potential was there but as usual died rapidly we did have afew rumbles and cloud to ground strikes in the Chilliwack river valley.Abby_wx wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 11:11 pm Yeah, I could certainly see why they issued a "watch", as there were thunderstorms in the area... Glad you had some much needed rain and the fire up your way didn't expand.Roberts Creeker wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 11:24 pm Exciting day up here, it actually rained here this morning, had about 1" in some buckets but it cleared up early morning and reverted to cloudy with sunny periods.
