October 2019 Forecasts and Discussions

Post by SouthSardiswx »

I couldn't wait for October but here goes, hockey season starts next week plus all the major sports this month that's why I call it rocktober what ever your sport you got it.
Will we continue with this dry stretch or back to wet, will the models continue their winter look giving us hope for later on. All I know is it's Thankgiving this month and we all have lots to be thankful for like this forum for us weather fans thanks to Stuffy.
P.S. remember to get and out and vote on Oct. 21st we all have a voice in this and good luck to the candidate you select.

Coldest morning yet today, but still only 1.1C at my place. Kelowna was not so lucky with its first sub zero temperature of the season...

Looks like blobby is being relocated further offshore.

Some signs we may see a fairly significant rain system towards the start of next week

Deep snow cover really really helps enhance radiational cooling, especially under clearing skies.

That is very cold for this time of year! :silent:
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

First it was a foot of snow in Northern BC in August...
Then a massive snowstorm that hammmmmmered the Rockies along the border and surrounding areas..up to 4 feet of snow. This is legendary butties. If this happened in 1951..or 1908, we could only wonder how it could be possible, right? If i heard that these 2 events happened years ago..i would have to say that i couldn't believe it. :bs:
Could this be an amazing winter? I dunno
Of course it could easily be 18c and bommy during this strong EN, but instead March starts out troffy and chilly!  Bring on some 18c sunny days

It could be an amazing winter for us but it could also be a heavy hitter east of the Rockies with us sitting high and dry (or wet).
