Like A Rhinestone Cowboy by Glen Campbell
Parody for Oiler Nut

I've been walkin' these streets so long
Singin' the same old Shania song
I know every crack in these dirty sidewalks of Edmonton
Where Connor's the fame of the game
And nice guys get traded away like the snow on a winter's day
There's been a load of compromisin' trades
On the road to there disaster
But I'm gonna be where the lights are shinin' on me

Like a Edmonton Oiler's fan
Riding out on a donkey in a Canadian rodeo
Like a Edmonton Oiler's fan
Getting hockey cards and letters from people I don't even like
And trade offers comin' over the phone

Well I really don't mind the snow
And a smile can hide all the pain
But you're down when you're ridin' the train that's takin' you to the game
And I dream of the goals they can't score
With a Oiler ticket and a loonie tucked inside my shoe

There'll be a load of compromisin' trades
On the road to there disaster
But I'm gonna be where the lights are shinin' on me

Like a Edmonton Oiler's fan
Riding out on a donkey in a Canadian rodeo
Edmonton Oiler's fan
Gettin' hockey cards and letters from people I don't even like

Not bad,not bad at all . Do you remember my oilers parody from a few years ago? , "The Wreck of the Edmonton Oilers". I wrote it for my Edmonton relatives right after they fired Dallas Eakins. Had them rolling on the floor after listening to my recording of the song , I just found some karaoke music to the original and played it on my stereo and then sang into my recorder app on my phone and voila.

Let's see what Bono says , don't think oiler nut visits this thread , I believe there's a few oilers fans including mattman and maybe slytyguy, if he is you better have a word with him. :problem:

Which Shania song are you talking about , That don't Impress me much , Don't be Stupid , or Man, I feel like a Woman!

Not sure what happened to the Blues on their current road trip but I think they lost to all the western Canadian teams including Winnipeg tonight.
Don't think the flames are that good , hard to believe they got 107 pts last year.

The Flames are a decent team, not great. The Blues definitely struggled on this trip, but still are the best team in the West. Nice to see the Oilers find secondary scoring though. Bringing Yamamoto up and splitting McDavid and Draisaitl the last 11 games has done wonders. 2 legitimate scoring lines.

Good game last night! Only 2 points handed out too. Lets see the Canucks grab this division by the balls today!

The Canucks can win the division for all I care, which isn’t much. I want to see an Oilers/Flames first round matchup.

l wouldn't be surprised if this game goes to the Canes, back to back on the road is tough l'd be happy with a looser point. And now it's 2-1 Canes. Well they got as far as the shootout, outplayed from the second period on. But we'll take the point. on to bean town for a cup of tea.

Been a life long 49ers fan. Yesterday was hard. Even today I woke up in a disheartened state. This one took more out of me than the last Super Bowl the 49ers were in during the Kap era. Ugh. Just ugh. :tiredos:
