And all we get it is a split flow. :bang: :bang: :bang:

Time to move

4:07 PM AST Saturday 3 February 2024

Hazardous winter conditions are expected.

Locations: most of northeastern Nova Scotia.

Additional Snowfall: 50 to 80 cm.

Time span: continuing until Monday.

Remarks: A low pressure system has stalled south of Nova Scotia resulting in a prolonged period of heavy snow, which will persist into Monday. Conditions will deteriorate further on Sunday as winds increase and snowfall rates intensify, with blowing snow reducing visibilities.

30 to 50 cm of snow can be expected by Sunday morning, with a further 30 to 50 cm possible by Monday morning. The snow will be wet and heavy, which in combination with strong winds, could lead to utility outages.

Snow will taper to flurries throughout the day on Monday.

Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.

Winter storm warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to NSstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #NSStorm.

Abby_wx wrote: Sat Feb 03, 2024 8:47 am The EC forecast is deteriorating for next week. Two days ago it said a mix of sun and cloud on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Now it says cloudy all three days with a chance of showers.

It can be hard to buy sunshine with this type of split flow pattern. There's no wind to scour out the gunk, and the sun is still too low to burn it off. Probably the worst aspect of our climate. Boring, dreary, listless weather pattern.
Ya, Kristi Gordon mentioned on Friday Abby Sr. she said skiers and boarders don't put them away yet probably mountain snow next week, l'm skeptical though.

Did a morning hike yesterday. It feels like spring with all the flies and mosquitoes out.

So is everybody else(except Bono), as evidenced today, as half the lower mainland descended upon the shores and restaurants of White Rock beach. Maybe lacked sunbathers but looked just as busy as any spring or summer day in 2023.
