The parade of Pacific storms keeps the cold up north and delaying the arrival of the Arctic air? Nothing new when we have a powerful zonal flow in play...and locked down! Pattern break desperately needed to salvage our winter dreams. Pray my friends, pray :sorry:
Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++ 8-)

Meanwhile it's nice and sunny out with a westerly breeze , was that even forecasted? Albeit nowhere near as warm as yesterday. Currently 6.5°

Today will be troffy and cooler Gumpy. Mixed bag incoming all day until next front makes its presence felt tomorrow for more rain and pumbling mountain snows. Well not that much snow, but better than bommy Alpine rains :shifty:

I was in a small avalanche skiing today at Fort St James. It's 3-4 feet deep of loose snow sitting directly on the ground.

Catnip wrote: Sat Jan 04, 2020 10:15 am I sent them a Weatherbell map asking why theirs is much better. Their response:

“Looks pretty much the same to me. However, they seem to smoothen the edges a little bit. Do not see a benefit in smoothing, makes it less accurate to the actual model output.“

BS if you ask me.
Either way, if one prefers the WeatherBELL maps, then use their services and discontinue the other. Of course Ryan's site weathermodels is cheaper but there is sometimes truth to the statement "you get what you pay for." That said, both services are great. I've used them both but ultimately decided to cancel my weathermodels subscription and switch over to WeatherBELL. After using both services, I just prefer WeatherBELL. One thing that triggered me to switch was the technical issue I was having with if I recall correctly, the Canadian model 500 mb anomaly map. Upon several failed attempts to interact with customer service, I just decided to make the switch to WeatherBELL, especially since WeatherBELL recently upgraded their website and I much prefer the user interface on it versus weathermodels. Just my opinion.

Continued improvements in the mid range with the 12z EPS. Trending towards the GFS. Here is next Saturday.

And here is next Sunday. Still 7-9 days out so expect changes but nice to see the euro and GFS slowly converging in the mid/long range.
