The GFS and GEFS want to give us a December 2008 repeat in January. Would be a dream come true if it verified but best to keep expectations low.

Yes, Abby, been model riding for 10 years. Very well aware of let down potential.

I love the precision of these, it's not 19 cm, it's 19.8 cm! Will have to get a better ruler for measuring.

Re: January 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
Nope...I posted the 0Z snowfall map on the Vancouver subreddit and got downvoted to hell. So I deleted it. But who says we can’t have a Vancouver/PNW weather subreddit?

Re: January 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
Everything seems to be adding up to something good. Our January curse hangs in the balance. 00Z runs right after the hockey game, hope to see similar results and more consistency between models in regards to Friday's system. Also, WHERE'S WEATHERPRO?!

Re: January 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
Reminds me of the old bench mark I saw as a teen in New Mexico at Fort Union. Installed in the mid-1800's, using mid-1800's surveying techniques, inland and hundreds of miles (along rough wagon tracks) from any sea-level datum, and it listed the purported elevation down to hundredths of a foot IIRC (making for a total of six significant figures.)Roberts Creeker wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2020 6:03 pm I love the precision of these, it's not 19 cm, it's 19.8 cm!
