One cold month does not a trend become. Or break, for that matter, because of the series of warm months before this that a statement like "so much for global warming" ignores.

It's pretty clear our area is warming despite last month. Months like this are becoming more rare and milder. Graphs show the instances per decade of months averaging below zero in Agassiz and the temperature in negative degrees C of those months.

If you looked at our records, you will note Feb 1936 was much colder than this Feb.

Only reason that year is not taken into account is due to the fact that YVR started recording temps and precip in 1937.

For where exactly?

That’s not true for any of the longer running stations. 3rd coldest at Shawnigan Lake. ‘36 and ‘89 were significantly colder with more impressive arctic airmasses within the month.

Cold February could be linked to climate change according to Kristy Gordon and climatologists. Thought she did a good summary of the current weather pattern , she starts speaking at about the 13:50 mark.

Much colder is a bit exaggerated. That month averaged -0.4C which is pretty similar to this past February.

I’m probably by far in the minority, but I hate this time of the year (weather wise). Always a little sad to see winter go. I’m still cheering for another snowfall, slush or whatever. I’ll take it. Anyway, hopefully we at least get some thunderstorms this spring/summer.

It truly is laughable that with all the easily attainable information and data out there, added with years upon decades of relentless and obvious torching, we still inevitably see this stupendous level of ignorance rear its head every time it gets cold. Despite the fact that occaisional weirdly long cold snaps for small portions of the globe are not inconsistent with AGW theory in any way, shape or form.
