Mostly sloppy snows. If this started Dec 15 or so..we woulda had snow cover for 5 weeks running with much colder temps and deeper snows widespread too. Woulda been an epic winter.

Winter of 2008/2009 redux easy if this pattern locked in early-mid December. Too bad it waited until February.

EC keeps warnings things up in the extended eveyday and it was wrong for 3 weeks. On Sunday today was suppose to be plus 9c
EC typically seems to run too cold in the short term and too warm in the long term.

That said, I see nothing wrong with their current forecast. Daytime heating, lack of outflow will easily bring us up to 8-9C in the second week of March.

Leighbugs wrote: Wed Mar 06, 2019 8:02 pm It snowed in March 2017 also. I know because it came up on my Facebook memories. In fact, I think we had snow halfway through the month as well. After that it warmed up quickly and then the fires of hell took over the province by the first week of July.
Definitely remember that one! Had out of town guests from the southern US and they were amazed. It also ruined our weekend plans. What I also remember is that this forum called it at least 2, maybe 3, weeks in advance. I warned my guests about possible snow and they laughed at me....but I had the last laugh when the flakes started falling :)

I haven't even hit -3C this month.
My warmest low so far in March was -3.3C. Tonight will likely be warmer though. Maybe around -2C. You guys seem to get all the snow over there though.
