Re: March 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
It’s neither...it’s a graupel/ice pellet shower.
No rain, all frozen precip.
Likely a hood harbinger of what the rest of today will be like.
Most importantly, it’s all kind of icy out there on the roads, even some of the main ones, so careful out there this morning!

CAPE values telling. Best dynamics today in the Valley and along the N Shore.

I don't have time to get the answer myself. I'm visiting fam and dont have much access to anything besides this forum. How is the island looking today for snow from nanaimo - vic? Driving home in a bit just want to know what I'm looking forward to. Thanks guys!

It’s snowing here currently, so likely at least flurries from Duncan and thru the Malahat for the next 1/2hr to 1hr or so. I would expect the main highway to be fine.Weatherhead wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 7:01 am I don't have time to get the answer myself. Edit. Snowing hard here now and the roads are covered. Probably some slushy sections on the highway as this cell is likely moving towards the Malahat. The roads usually melt off pretty fast by about mid morning this time of year.

I'm leaving around 2. I'm not to worries about my vehicle/driving abilities should the rds cover, just the other idiots on the rd. Plus it's just me and 3 kids one being a 5 month old. I can stay out here if everything goes to hell.
