Putin says the death and destruction images from Ukraine is "fake news". Where have I heard that term before? Not looking too good for him on the battlefield, losing thousands for soldiers including 4 generals, if accurate. He'll probably back off one day after inflicting as much damage ,destruction,and misery as possible,and then say, oops sorry...come to think of it, that word is not in his vocabulary.

And if Russia can't have McDonald's Putin will just steal and nationalize it and tilt the logo and call it Uncle Vanya's..Seems like Putin can get away with anything he wants.

Fantastic read there Gumplers, yes l laughed when l read about the nationalizing McDees under a new brand name.

I don't know if he's mentally lost it or yeah he feels he's running out of time to make his "true impact. He's certainly not as great a master military strategist as he thought he was.

Some sort of terminal illness on his part would not surprise me. Add that to how he has a life goal of recreating the Russian empire, and it would explain why he threw caution to the wind and went all-in in Ukraine: time is running out for him.

Of course, this is all pure conjecture….

Nothing too political to state. Haven't been on the forum lately as life is super busy with three kids including the addition of a hedgehog to the family, and working in an accounting office this time of year means insane busyness at work. Which reminds me, don't anyone here die for the next year or so. I'm the "estates guy" at work, so all estate income tax situations land on my desk. There are some profound issues at CRA--ineptness that defies excuse--regarding processing aspects to estates the past few months. More ineptness than usual. Our tax dollars at work.
