Re: Politics
I only drink once every 4 years, and today is the day. I get absolutely rip-roaring drunk and then go vote. That way I can never remember the next day who I voted for, and thus never actually know if I voted for disaster we end up with.
Okay, seriously though, I have a theory about why we have more and more people voting in advanced polls every election. It's because each election gets nastier and nastier that people just want to go vote ASAP and just tune out every single political attack afterwards.
Here are the odds from CBC Poll Tracker.
Unless the Conservatives win a lot more seats than the Liberals it will be a Trudeau Liberal government, so really the odds of a Conservative government is something like 5%.
As for Vote Compass, I'm stuck between Libs and Cons, but I would vote Conservative, NDP, Green, or even PPC over Liberals this time even if I'm more closely aligned with the Liberals because Vote Compass doesn't take into account a few important issues like SNC Lavalin and how JWR was treated, which puts that party dead last on my preference list.

Re: Politics
That would still be a minority government. As far as I understand, 170 or more seats is needed for a majority.VanCitySouth wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 12:01 am Man I wish I shared your optimism. I'm keeping my expectations low so I'm not more disappointed than I have to be LOL
I really don't want a minority.

Re: Politics
Nice to see that all's well and that you snapped out of your mini hibernation just in time to vote for your favourite party.
Strange how nobody picked ndp to be in the 40's or higher. I think they currently hold 44 seats.

Re: Politics
I mean, that would still be a pretty thumping repudiation of the Trudeau Liberals, and it'd be close enough to a majority with all the splits in the opposition that parliament would at least be temporarily stable. It'd be something like 75 lost seats, which is a pretty big swing, and approximately the same amount of seats Harper lost in 2015.
Obviously given my prediction I personally have low expectations for the Tories, but as you said, one can hope.

Re: Politics
Not gonna lie, feeling pretty smug about my high Liberal prediction right now. Highest even compared to 338, CBC, etc all the public poll-watchers.
