I'm back. I was at the hospital since Saturday evening (appendicitis surgery). Greeeaaat.

This is pretty much what Cliff Mass says in his latest blog as well.
"The ridging has moved back over us, which suggests below normal precipitation. But substantial troughing is offshore--very reminiscent of a classic El Nino pattern."
