Considering that the cold snap won't start until the 10th and we had some warm weather prior it will be very difficult for this January to average below 0c this year even if it's cold until the end of the month.

Chips away at our snow totals slightly for next week's system. I wonder who might post about this...
Models are being fickle. The big picture still looks very promising. And that system has plenty of time to trend colder again.

I'm starting to worry I could fall onto the GFS bandwagon. If my count is correct, 17 consecutive runs have been consistently showing a historic Arctic blast. But I don't really want to believe it for the sake of avoiding major disappointment, which is highly probable. But maybe the GFS will win this one or come close.
