Just happy to see some chilly dry nights being modeled. Seeing spring bug activity during Christmas was too strange. :?

I doubt it'll be enough to do anything. Last two years we dropped below -12 a couple times and the bugs have been absolutely brutal. Especially the fleas on our animals.

Brutal even in the winter? Of course they are going to start breeding as soon as spring hits.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Means nothing at this point, but a few of the 12z ensemble members go arctic around the 12th/13th.

I think a brush of modified arctic air could still be possible but a full on blast seems highly unlikely in these background conditions and even going by what the models have been saying. Having some water in the resevoirs next summer might be the best that comes out of this and that is no small thing.

Having said all that, breaking the January curse would be pretty fun so we might as well keep the hopes up for now. I feel like I'm in Nito's corner on this one and that just feels...dirty.

The fleas are as bad in this very moment as they have ever been.

Driving through the mountains yesterday was a sobering sight. Unbelievably low snowpack. Inconceivably even. Seeing exposed rock around the Coq summit is absolutely insane. If we don't get a rain train soon we are absolutely boned.
