Not sure how old everyone is on this forum but anyone 35 and younger will definitely see another heatwave like that in our lifetime.

Climate will continue to get warmer therefore heat events will become more frequent by the decade to the 2021 level. You can't compare the 1962 windstorm to this.

As of now, it's probably clear of the 1962 windstorm in terms of anomalies over the course of the historical record.

With that said, the 1962 windstorm and the 1893 cold snap are the only two single events recorded that probably come close to the equivalent of the 2021 heatwave in terms of anomalies.

Hmmm...Strange Ms. Weirdcreeks perhaps water restrictions next which will still be in place at Christmas time. it reached a high of 28c @ the pond in south Sardis, its currently 19c.

Here are the past Euro trends. Still some uncertainty with the duration and intensity, but a heatwave is pretty much locked in for next week.

Hopefully it's short lived. EC now showing high of 29c for Sechelt for Wed/Thur. It keeps moving off, I'd be happy if it's like that end of the forecast snowfall that never happens.
