Buried deep, deep in the Environment Canada's website is this graph. How population has grown by 5 times with 10 times the number of tax payers (largely because women work too), and yet we can't afford to maintain 1/4 the number of weather stations.

With last night's rain, I'm just under 140 mm for the month (have to check the manual gauge for the exact total).

Crazy... that's the opposite of the direction we need to be going. A major aspect of climate change is increasing or decreasing precipitation (not debating the cause, just acknowledging that the climate is changing). You'd think that such information would be valuable for planning agriculture and flood prevention.

Wow, up to 67 mm of rain at my place this month. Definitely the wettest month of year so far!

Massive freeze tomorrow, so I better pick my tomatoes. This will be the first froze in September in many years.

I don't have the time to look at other stations, but Abbotsford is in striking distance of this been the wettest month of the year thus far. After yesterday's rain we're officially at 158.3mm. Our wettest month is January at 160.9mm. I wonder how often September is the wettest or second wettest month of the year heading into October.

Yes, that happened in 2010 and in 1969. In fact, September of 1969 was also wetter than October, November, and December of that year.

I only checked the 10 wettest Septembers and compared them to the other months of those years, so it's possible there are other years where September was wetter than the previous 8 months.

Only 134.7 mm for the month here, but 158.3 mm at the airport. There were some convective cells that just barely missed my location.

MASSIVE amount of rain in the Okanagan. September is normally the direst month of the year in Penticton, but this year it had 60mm, the 6th wettest on record.

And yet despite all the rain, it's still drier than average year to date...

With rainy season back here we go I finished Sept. with 152.4mm, I sure wasn't expecting September to kick off our rainy season and no Indian summer to boot.

Wow I had more than you Abby Sr. I think due to those hit and miss cells made for some variable totals across the region.

I'm sitting at 4.7mm to start Rocktober, again TS. were in the forecast but nothing here and it never looked convective at all today.
