Fantastic, unlike last year when trends would end up warmer this year trends are colder per run.

I was with butties in MRidge north east area..clear and chilly to start the evening..watched a mass of white clouds descend from the north..then started snowing heavily..temp around 1-2c. Dropped about 3 to 4 cm if I recall but was stoned lol. 😜😜
Figures  it started snowing in Richmond just after midnight so officially it was Nov. 1st, l remember John Paschold the next day mentioning it fell just short of a record first snowfall for Oct. but little did we know it would happen in 91? was it.

Yep, it was '91.

In the recent past... it's snowed in late Oct in Vancouver in 1971, 1984 and 1991.

I remember 91 well. I lived really close to our elementary school and walked home at lunch to get a winter coat as I had only worn a sweat shirt that morning. Pants too of course. There was about 3” by the time school let out.

Although it's the clown range, the clowns have been consistent for the past few days. After Thanksgiving a deep low sets up over the GOA. Yuk. Before the "Ninosih pattern" terminology gets thrown around, it would only be ninosih if California got drenched. It remains dry.

I can see November being very wet again this year (like 2018).

Last year Mosquito Creek almost overflowed onto Marine Dr.
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

Wasn’t California also dry during the last super nino? It’s nice that Mother Nature doesn’t always play by our rules. Keeps us on our toes.

I could be wrong, but I don't think it stayed dry. After the winter of 2014/2015 there was much hyperbole in California about them being in permanent drought as that winter was exceptionally dry along the entire west coast of the US and Canada. I think the drought started to bust during that Nino, and it really took a hammering during the following winter. I remember the Oroville Dam's spillway crisis in the spring of 2017.
