Hmmmmm...Bearhead may not be dropping bear dung, pulled this off the NWS site tonight. Just one more shot to watch for thoughts?

The end of the week is trending...
interesting. A ridge may amplify across the Pacific into Alaska,
essentially creating what looks to be an omega block, with a
robust area of closed low pressure dropping down from Canada into
the Pacific Northwest. This general pattern is agreed upon by
ensemble guidance in the 500mb height anomalies. What is uncertain
and will continue to be uncertain is the finer details of this
scenario. Currently seeing decent moisture with this system. Will
likely see a return to chilly rain, with current snow levels
projected to fall to at least 1000ft by Friday evening and
eventually near the sfc by Saturday morning. High temps will
likely be refined in the coming days but currently argue for rain
during the day Friday and a rain/snow mix Friday night. Will need
to watch how this trends over the next few days. Also uncertainty
as to how much moisture is left as snow levels tumble. Current
indications are that most of the moisture is gone by this time.
All in all, could see a trend towards some light winter precip or
at least a mix late next week/early next weekend.

Their averages aren’t that much higher than places further south. A bit of elevation helps quite a bit. Campbell river surf side (9m) averages about 50cm. But the airport at 100m averages about 85cm.

Looks like we could see some significant Fraser outflow winds next weekend. Too bad its late March, probably nothing major in terms of low elevation snows but strong -PNA/-EPO signals in the models. This may not be good news if this pattern locks in as it could be favourable for heavy snows on the Coquihalla and I'm going to Kelowna for a couple of days on March 21st. :o
