Ya, the spring started dry but lately not the case. The Burke mtn guage has recorded over 100mm of rain since the ridge broke down on April 22 (not sure aboit YVR). Not too shabby at all. Everything is green and lush its much better than the yellow parched foliage like we saw in the late spring droughts in 2015 and 2018. More rain to come over the next few but models are hinting at a dry, warm spell for late May

Flow straight out of the South. Lots of rain south and west of Seattle but the Olympic mountains are rain shadowing us big time. It has stopped raining and it's very windy. The rain should start up again with the cold front coming through later although the totals are much less than forecast so far due to the rain shadowing in fact it's barely rained at all here. Looking at the radar the front has stalled to the West and South. As is often the case western Washington gets the brunt of the moisture with this one.

Interesting storm down in Lynden Wa. Storm relative velocity showed possible rotation in what you usually see in supercells but the storm quickly weakened as it hit the border.
