The more runs that come in the more it looks like the drought is nowhere near the end. Look at that vortex over Hudson Bay. Big low near Alaska and Godzilla the monster ridge aint going anywhere. Pattern lock. 2002 redux. The question now shouldn't be if it will rain around mid month. It should be will it rain before November?!! Maybe a bit of an exaggeration but it has hapoened before. Let's see what the ensembles bring but persistence might be the trend

Was quite nasty and smoky this morning but thankfully seems to have improved.

Looking at the mountains, it seemed as if the smoke was mostly in the lower levels, so I took a chance and drove up to the end of Mount Seymour Road. Indeed it was much clearer above about 750 m.

That's interesting. I've barely mowed since mid July. I think twice, just to get the weeds and patchy areas that didn't die off. Abbotsford is a brown wasteland.

Hit 28.4C today.

More pics from Mount Seymour. Middle one has a bear in it (one of two I saw).

It's been really dry here, the grass hasn't grown but the clover is still green. It's surprisingly wet in the morning from the dew, there are puddles of water on the plastic I'm pulling over the wood I have out to dry.

29.0 :o  :o Wow!!! We got all the way up to 23.6 c in Sechelt which made for a very pleasant late August day!

I'm loving all this dry weather. I feel for the people who can't water outside but I've decided/come to realize that it's not going any more likely to rain if I feel bad about enjoying the dry weather so why not enjoy it. Last winter was soooo very wet, I remembered why I didn't like winter, the previous ones had been drier so it wasn't as bad.
