Soooooo...

Are we just not doing summer this year?

This weather is really ticking me off. Yesterday was a nice reprieve but today sucks. When are we going to have a nice streak of summer weather?!

Actually, I haven't been too bad lately! :) I have my normal, chronic issues but nothing new or particularly awful has been happening to me lately so I'll take that as a win!
Thanks for asking, that's very kind of you. :thankufl:

This is like winter when arctic blasts are always at the end of the run.

Agreed. Alternating days with rain and sun is not climo summer weather around these parts. It's usually common to go 3-6 weeks without rainfall at this time of year.

I think we all have chronic issues, especially John. It becomes more apparent as we age.

Isn't this weather great!

Need to wait for the air pollution to kick into high gear to warm us up. :P

June was only 0.5C below normal here, while May was 1.4C ABOVE normal... just for perspective.

That's the thing about these normals...they include the 80s and 90s but not the 10s, and people only remember the 10s, so it doesn't feel normal when we have a cool wet June relative to the most recent ones.

For June 2020 in Vancouver (YVR).

Tmin: 11.9°C (1991-2020 average: 11.9C)
Tmax: 19.2°C (1991-2020 average: 19.7C)
Rain: 53.2mm (1991-2020 average: 48.9mm)

Quite normal... It was a very cloudy month and there were a high (17) number of rainy days. Otherwise, it was a normal June.

Well that's precisely my point. This June was a very very normal June, statistically speaking. In terms of how we remember things, though, not so much.

June was most definitely NOT normal! It was very cloudy, and this kept the daytime temperatures away from the water a solid degree below normal! Agassiz and Abbotsford were 1.3 degrees below normal in June for the daily max.
