Discussion.

A strong low pressure system moved from Washington state into
British Columbia late Saturday. The airmass ahead of the low was
conducive to the development of severe thunderstorms producing heavy
rain locally. Areas along the international border from the Fraser
Valley to the western Kootenays received significant amounts of
rain. More rain is expected in the wake of the low later today,
mainly over the Kootenays.

The following is a summary of some 24 hour rainfall totals (in mm)
reported by Environment and Climate Change Canada's observation
stations from 7 AM PDT on Saturday, May 30 to 7 AM PDT on Sunday,
May 31, 2020.
