Going back into a +8C to +12C zonal wet/damp pattern is depressing. Wish that ridge could have bridged into a mega block.

Still looking like a positive trend compared with a couple days ago with its 384 hours of ridging.

The 18Z doesn't ultimately go in our direction, but there is a nice cold pool developing to our North just waiting to get dislodged. I still think the trends have improved over 3-5 days ago when they were just utterly hopeless. Blocking should return soon enough. I sincerely hope something hits us in the holiday period.

In the meantime, this round of ridging looks to be very enjoyable after this next wave of the rain train tonight. Glad to get one more boost to our creek flow before things look to dry up for a while.

Does anayone think that Indonesian volcanic explosion will alter the upper levels in the coming weeks so that LaNina will punish us with many snows?
