February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions

Post by stuffradio »

Will we see our first major widespread fall of snow of this winter this month or are we going to head into March with barely any snow falling this winter? We're about to find out!

My gut feeling is no major snowfalls or real arctic air, but we'll drag this out long after winter is done with multiple fringe events in March and April. That would be the most depressing outcome, so I hope I'm wrong.

Yes this would be sad. Bring in some ridging and 12c sunshine! :wish:
Of course it could easily be 18c and bommy during this strong EN, but instead March starts out troffy and chilly!  Bring on some 18c sunny days

Respectfully disagree. Models have been back and forth and unreliable this winter. If the EPS remains solid, no reason to doubt it.

Personally, I think the doubt is coming from people tired of suffering so much disappointment, so they'd rather go with climo during model chaos.

While I could be wrong, I'm confident the other models will cave to the EPS as long as it remains solid. We'll see what it shows tonight.

I'm thinking this too. 2008 redo. Cool spring. Slush in April. Mind you we had sunshine and warm temps in late February 2008. February is not always a wet month, in some years it's been very dry like in 1993, 2001, 2003, 2005 ,2015. In some years July or August has been wetter than February.

Looks like no shortage of moisture to start off Feb. Lame how the sunny outlook vanished as well.
