I have another one due March 15 and the third by March 21, so a warm March would be nice.

Now you have a black sheep in your flock, I hope it doesn't live up to the reputation. I expect that all of my March lambs will be black, April and May lambs will probably be white.

Newborn lambs are so delicate and it's hard when they don't make it. :ghug: Do you have more lambs coming?

+5.1 overcast with a light breeze

Doesn't look like there's any warm and dry weather coming up anytime soon.

Looks like a continuation of Nov-Jan.
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

No extremes anytime soon. Any extreme March cold or heat wave relies on a SSW event to occur.

Wow , nice. Didn't think it would be doable in one day in the winter. Is snowshoeing almost as fast as summer hiking?

There is a one in a billion chance of a SSW event if we are lucky.

This is one of the worst patterns to be stuck in. :bang: :bang: :bang:

It’s slower just do to the fact of the amount stuff you need to carry which slows you down.

I did it at the end of December. I plan to return there mid-March.

Your speedy. I think it would fun to traverse the lake but it would make it a 30k day.

I would prefer to bring a fishing rod in the summer and have a crack at the native rainbows. I've never done it though. Came across this fishing site where someone claims they ran up to the lake in 1hr 20 min.

I’m not sure when it was decided that an SSW is a prerequisite for anything exciting weather wise but I personally don’t buy it.

Dayyyyum. I could snowmobile that 18K in probably 20 minutes and that looks like a nice lake to go bombing around in. How deep was the snow up there? 8 to 10 ft?
Of course it could easily be 18c and bommy during this strong EN, but instead March starts out troffy and chilly!  Bring on some 18c sunny days
