Mainly clear with little signs of smoke in southern Alberta along Highway 3 (first pic), with similar conditions near the crowsnest pass close to the AB/BC border (second pic).

Smoke became more visible aloft traveling west of Fernie and visibility lowered here in Cranbrook (third pic) with surface level smoke returning along with the smell.

Just using my LG phone. Take a bunch whenever I'm in the passenger seat in the car but it's hard to get camera focus with the glare, high speed and shaking.

On that topic... over the years, I've always noticed general highway quality/conditions has been better in BC compared with Alberta.

If I remember this stat correctly, we had a 76 day stretch in June - September 1896 with less than 10mm of precip (recorded at the old Steveston station I think).

Other stat guys on the forum like @Goose or @Glacier can confirm but that is likely the driest stretch in recorded history across the south coast.

I'm not at home so I can't make nice graphs until August 8.

So we quietly set the longest dry streak @ YVR?

I bet someone that we would see rain within the next 2 weeks. How safe do you think that bet is?

Is there a minimum amount? I can almost guarantee someone will see raindrops. Getting a soaking feels like 50/50 at best.

Depends, do you have more faith in the GFS/GEM or Euro? ;)

Tonight's 00Z Euro will be interesting, does it cave or stick to its guns?
