We just have 2 weeks until 5 PM sunsets and 18 days until we are gaining 3 minutes of light a day. We might as well switch to Spring now and get the Cherry blossoms out!

Re: January 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
Winters over l'm throwing in the forks, now l know l said l wouldn't do that this year but after feeling more confident a week ago of a possible return to winter the last week of January l'm fairly confident we had our winter. I'm satisfied with it l'm hoping we don't see a February event as it's just a waste of an early spring.stuffradio wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 9:04 am We just have 2 weeks until 5 PM sunsets and 18 days until we are gaining 3 minutes of light a day. Yeah l just feel like we used up our 9 lives of winter Jr. Man.AbbyJr wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 8:39 pm Unfortunately, long range models are trending away from the colder pattern for the end of the month. It could be that the models were just too quick with the pattern change and that models will trend colder for February. However, the latest Euro weeklies also backed off on any cold for February. Therefore, my confidence is decreasing that the cold will return to the PNW this winter. Hopefully we can at least get a warm and dry pattern if it doesn't get cold and snowy.
We can also hope for a March 1951 or 2002 repeat.

Thermal troughs in January make me smile. Looks like some unprecedented warmth a little higher up.

Ideally we don't get super warm so soon into the year but warmth and sunshine sure beats mild rain.

Re: January 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
Time to retire the term "unprecedented". It's become meaningless. Every week we seem to see something"unprecedented" and try to pass it off as a fluke.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 10:52 am Thermal troughs in January make me smile. Looks like some unprecedented warmth a little higher up.
