Happy first day of meteorological Summer (in a couple of days). We're almost 6 months away until Christmas. You better start saving up for your Christmas presents due to inflation ;)

Probably much like gas prices Ms. Nosnowcreeks the chance of snow is like the chance of prices dropping below 2 bucks. :(
Perhaps 10 flakes is all we can afford this year.

Here it is hot off the griddle, since June 1st is the start of meteorological summer this forecast although it is TWN and l don't hold much stock in their forecast, if true l'll be happy with it.
However Ant 🐜 head may get baked in P.E.I.

Happy Juneuary
After a couple days of "the warmest temps of the year", it looks like we are back into the drink for the next week :bang: :bang:
Yesterday sure felt warm considering how cool/wet it's been. Prolly the nicest day of the year so far imo. Yessssssss
Of course it could easily be 18c and bommy during this strong EN, but instead March starts out troffy and chilly!  Bring on some 18c sunny days

Surprisingly mild on the ride in to the office this morning. Took my hoodie per force of habit but within a block it was clear it was too warm for it and into my pack it went. Will be wearing shorts this afternoon.

It dumped rain on my Vernon yesterday. My friend who lives 25 km away got nothing.

Tatlayoko Lake, Clinton, and Kamloops were the provincial winners in the precip category yesterday....

May misery, May gray, Mayvember, call it what you may, May 2022 will go down in the record books as one of the coolest and gloomiest on record for much of BC. The month certainly rivaled the infamous May 1948 in terms of weather-induced misery—save, of course, for the well-known big Fraser River flood in ‘48. Shown in the two charts above are the daily lows (Tn) and highs (Tx) for Vancouver and Kamloops for both May 1948 (lighter colours, with blue indicating minimums and orange maximums) and May 2022 (darker colours). The long-term daily mean low and high temperatures for May are also shown (darker coloured thick dashed lines) with the means for April also included for comparison (lighter coloured thick dashed lines). The lows and highs for the two months came in quite close, and largely at or below normal, in some cases five or more degrees below normal. The key difference occurred at the end of May 1948 in Kamloops when a sustained heat wave visited the Southeastern Interior—the subsequent rapid melting of snowpack triggered the big flood. This did not occur in 2022—while some anemic warmth did happen at times, it did not last long and certainly lacked the magnitude of the late May 1948 sizzler. The average high temperature at YVR during May 2022 ended up 1.0°C colder than May 1948, though the average low was 0.5°C warmer. For Kamloops, the average high was fully 2.3°C colder during 2022 and 1948 and the average low 1.2°C colder—in part because of the lack of any serious heat during the entire month. Looks like May 2022 wins. Finally, while May 2022 had a particular chill, the April trendlines underscore that the cool is relative. Had the same temperatures occurred in April, it would have been a seasonal to seasonably warm month. Seems like the climate and phenology is about 2 to 4 weeks behind this year.

What’s the difference between that site and bikehub.ca (where I already am logging)?

Can't repeat this enough but it's a joke that it's the official station for Vancouver. Last year during the heatwave it was a "cool" 31-32c at YVR, while East Van was pushing 40c.
