It looks like the main heat dome is trending East a bit especially in that graphic out to early Septmeber. The 12z GFS is bone dry until the 27th of August, except for maybe a light shower on Saturday.

Models are backing off on the intensity of next weeks heatwave as the centre of the ridge is now projected to be further east into the prairies. Still looks warm with upper 20's to low 30's but its becoming less likely that we see a major heat event next week.

That said, we are still 6-7 days out so there is still lots of time for the models to trend back to the warmer solutions. :dunno:

Hound wrote: Thu Aug 11, 2022 7:02 am I think this is the case for a lot of people. They don't mind summer temps but the problem here is there is no cooling in most homes, so there is no relief and no way to regenerate and feel better, thus people get cranky and generally tired. Some people can't take the heat for medical or health reasons. I was at my friends condo in Coquitlam, and the building is 2 years old roughly. The temp inside the condo has spiked to 28 to 35 inside all day and all night. It's dreadful! No escape, and impossible to sleep. Even with a fan blowing in cool air from the balcony. Not only are these condos complete CRAP quality in every way. They trap the heat like an oven. It really should be MANDATORY EVERY new home/condo whatever be built with an AC system that can be used if needed.
My friends condo is brutal man, It was built in 2017 and anytime the temperature gets close to 23 or higher it's unlivable. You will literally sweat non stop ( he's on the 14th floor) it's a living nightmare. During heatwaves he just gets a hotel because it's that bad. I don't even bother going over in the summer and I have zero idea why he still lives there tbh.

seeing some serious T-storms popping up into the S interior rn
This could be bad for fires
Of course it could easily be 18c and bommy during this strong EN, but instead March starts out troffy and chilly!  Bring on some 18c sunny days
