It's called clown range for a reason.

Looks like the NWS underplayed this one... this is their overnight update... I'm curious what their morning update will say.
Shower activity will gradually ramp up through the day
with widespread showers leading to a fairly wet afternoon and
evening ahead. The best instability remains destined for points
east of the Cascade crest, but there's enough to warrant
mentioning a slight chance of thunder in the Cascades from this
morning into this evening.

Radar showing a large area of heavy rain and possible thunderstorms moving due North, already past Seattle. Should cross the border in about an half hour.  From Cliff Mass: "The fuel truck is here.   And uplift in front of the approaching disturbance is setting off the storms." He's saying storms West of the Casades too.

Overall that complex of storms over Washington state is looking less convective as it lifts north but there should still be some storms in the lower mainland this morning especially as you head east. Too soon to say for this afternoon, possibly another round for the lower mainland but the SI is certainly going to get rocked.

Lame how the heat vanished. This would have really fueled up the storms.
