Glacier wrote: Sat Feb 05, 2022 10:48 pm Well I'm a Christian and I think the song is hilarious. It would be quite fitting for my brother since he's a bit rough around the edges. So is my mom, but not sure how his bride's family would take it. They've been common law for years now, and have a daughter so not like it's a white wedding.

But yes, I'm half joking about actually doing it at a wedding. I don't think Mrs. Glacier would ever agree to do this song in any setting -- though she says it's a cute love song.

I recently discovered this symphonic power metal band called Amberian Dawn. Their music is really cool and they have lots of catchy tunes. :D

Here's one of my favourites. If only our politicians put the lyrics into practice... "United we stand, divided we fall."

Inspired by recent events. I call this "Marigolds" after a traditional folk song.

Much as those forged in history,
And tempered by their tragedy,
Borne from the tears of times gone by,
Were marigolds beneath the clear blue sky.

Oft beaten, yet never unbowed,
Now threatened, still they stand uncowed,
Upon their banner, waving high,
These marigolds beneath the clear blue sky.

Shining brightly through the gloom,
Forever, proudly in full bloom,
Watered by the blood of those who die,
Are marigolds beneath the clear blue sky.

Now let our prayers rise to Thee,
Not fall as snow into the sea,
Oh God above, hear this! Our cry
For the marigolds beneath the clear blue sky.

Never took a liking to his music , never have never will. Having said that I did like Weird Al's parody "Just Eat It!" . So much so that I did a parody on his parody, , for my mother's 80th . She made alot of heart, liver, and kidney meals , of which I wasn't too fond of :silent: ,then she would say "Just Eat it"..It's good for you! Actually half of those Weird Al lyrics definitely applied to me

Quick poem involves weather thought I'd share it here:

The fog comes in on little cat feet,
that romp, rumble and tumble
before fading away
into nothing again

Awww, shucks, thank you (blush)

As to weather predictions, I did quite well in one of our weather contests beating out EC AND the Weather channel, but I'm not sure that makes me good at predicting the weather, more like just less bad?
