I was thinking of creating a new thread for COVID-19, but we've gone without one for this long...

911 new cases yesterday, another daily record. Unless they are doing a lot more testing, it would appear the positivity rate is going to start trending upward again.

Sorry gump. Bad habit. I grew up learning to normalize certain language in the hockey rink and an extremely temperamental, curse happy father. I've gotten a lot better but this highly distressing situation brings out the worst I guess. Although I wasn't really blaming god per se. As you say, I am an atheist and can't blame something I don't believe in.

I'm totally down to have a separate covid thread. Obviously politics are very relevant but the topic is so central to our daily lives. I've been leafing through the reddit Vancouver updates and I find they are better for up front showing the raw numbers than reading through a news story. I could just copy and paste those updates on here.

Speaking of politics, Trump has now signalled that he is prepared to leave the White House when the Electoral College inevitably votes Joe Biden for President. Now all eyes on if he wants to break things on his way out. Worryingly, there is speculation that he is focused on starting something with Iran before he's done. I hope he just slinks away but I've been worried about this lame duck period since long before the election.

Nah he won’t. He actually has the least American soldier blood on his hands since World War I!

Maybe true. But things can change fast with this president. How will his bitterness and narcissism affect his decision making?

Covid - 19 has tested positive for Rudy Guiliani. My thoughts are with Covid at this difficult time.
