However, this organization has been reluctant to do a proper rebuild in the past so I don't have much hope this time would be any different. Ownership clearly believes in the win now strategy despite the fact that taking short term short cuts has been a disaster for the team.

I don't know if the Canucks could manage to get the first overall pick even if they tanked. Our lottery luck is horrible.

Yes seems rigged always 5th there for a couple of years while a team with 10th pick went down to 2nd pick or 1st can't recall which team.

Been that way ever since year #1 when Gilbert Perreault could've been a Canucks player... :problem:

Indeed Tdry, this story is hilarious and explains the Knuckles failures or bad luck.

Must see video especially for the youngings like Jr. man and the old timers like skipper Grumpy, this is how the tradition of loosing started in 1970 for the Knuckleheads l remember seeing this afew years ago during a Knuckles game.

So glad I cut Sportsnet now, watched a fabulous illegal stream with no glitches. As you say it sucks we're so middling, this would be the year to tank. However we just have enough talent to stay afloat.

If Demko could consistently repeat that performance it's much closer to a contender than a tank job. That's what's so frustrating is they're never all going at the same time, someone is always dragging the team down.

Did you go with the IPTV box Kells? I'm looking into that you get every channel free you can watch any channel pretty much Canadian and American.
You can tune into WGR Buffalo and watch snowmagedon coverage.
(Disclaimer: l'm not promoting the use of illegal streaming devices but they are readily available on the market to buy legally through Amazon)

No I just use a stream off the internet. Trying to avoid spending money on subpar products like our local hockey team. I don't really watch much else other than Netflix or sometimes prime.

Yes that works or possibly using Chromecast is another good way.

I wonder where the Canucks would be now if they drafted Coulda (W.Nylander) , Woulda (M.Tkachuck) , and Shoulda (Caufield). Instead of 2 flops and a dud (Virtanen Juolevi Podkolzin). I realize Pods is still young but he seems to be lacking hockey IQ,especially in the offensive dept but maybe he just lacks the skill.

Typeing3 wrote: Wed Nov 16, 2022 12:25 pm On paper, the team stacks up fairly evenly with Morocco. Realistically, Canada is not favoured at all to advance from the group but of course there always is a chance; look back to Costa Rica in 2014 who topped a group that included England, Uruguay and Italy. In three one-off games, anything can happen.

In a situation where Canada does pick up at least a draw (1 point) from the Belgium and Croatia matches, a win (3 points) against Morocco could be all we need to advance.

All in all, I certainly would not write them off before the tournament has begun and can't wait to see the red and white finally represented at the world's biggest stage after 36 long years.
What type of play /strategy can we expect from the Canadian squad , defensive posture and play for a tie or something more offensive.
