Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows was better off as farmland. You would think you could create a nice community there given the proximity to the river fronts and proximity to the mountains but they really screwed up.

Re: November 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
The whole LM is screwed up. Poor planning, garbage infrastructure, hideous repair and management and planning. It's like complete imbeciles have planned this place since 1990 began. It was actually better before that and better quality work on everything including development. Now they go for look rather than function. Roads are a complete joke!wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 11:56 am Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows was better off as farmland. Re: November 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
Poor planning that caters only to automobile transportation and it does that catering poorly. This pretty much describes most of North America though. It's kind of ridiculous that 80% of transportation in Metro Vancouver is done by vehicle but it is a product of poor land use planning, poor street design (think cul de sacs) that makes it difficult to walk, bike and take public transportation. With 80% of trips requiring a vehicle it means that most families are spending $20,000 per year + on vehicle ownership costs. Stats Canada has vehicle spending as 12% of household expenditures. That's a huge chunk of incomes.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 11:56 am Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows was better off as farmland. Tyman, I love how in Surrey and other places they make bike lanes that appear out of nowhere and suddenly end anywhere and have no real purpose other than an image statement.

Re: November 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
Downtown Maple ridge is not bad honestly. Some nice rural areas too. But urban sprawl is crap no matter which way you slice it. It will kill port Kells eventually.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 11:56 am Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows was better off as farmland.
