Is it just me or does it seem like mood overall on the forum has been very positive and more people seem to have the attitude of the models are fun but not to get top worked up over. Maybe the first big model bust will change that Thanks to all or most of the members for keeping it light and fun.

Cat 5 cold snap last winter, snowed twice already this season. I would say a lot of the pressure is off.

It there is a rug pull I will find it hilarious, because rug pulls are going to happen whether or not I find them hilarious.

More likely IMO is not a rug pull but for the coming cold snap to be a garden-variety quick hitter, which will feel like a rug pull to those on the other forum who have managed to convince themselves that anything other than a replay of a handful of historic top-tier events is a big bust.

Yes! Like the one in around 1990ish, where the winds were nasty for 5 days straight and everything was frozen solid, power outages, trees down, and this was in Surrey, I can remember it was really bad in the valley as well and even in Vancouver proper. Then we had a huge overrunning event. Such sweet times.

Still waiting for that 4 day stretch of pretty well non-stop snow , happened somewhere in the 89-91 timeframe I think. If I'm not mistaken the cooler temps and long stretch of snowfall caught the Mets off guard.

It could be the storm I was referring too. I also remember one in 88/89 possibly. I remember how crazy it was walking to school. They never canceled school either even though it seemed half the staff didn't show up.

Gradual warmup for a couple days after the December 30th snowstorm (dropped ~25-50cm across Metro Vancouver in 36hrs), but with little rain. Melt occurred but snowpack held on. Forecast originally was for warmup with rain, but the cold air returned with another snowstorm between Jan 6th and 9th that dropped another 25-50cm. Resulted in 60cm+ snow depth in most areas across Metro Vancouver.

Recall Nito talking about this one as well back in Dec 2016, when a few model runs showed something similar.

The AF is like the operational run. It might flop around a lot, and there are hourly mood swings between 1950 and winter cancel.
This forum is like the ensembles. It takes things easy, and while some members may flop around occasionally, on a whole it's about trends and notches.

Just an observation Tice, NWS is good at naming different weather events.
Perhaps that ice cube winter of 68/69 could be called The Freezer l was thinking The Refrigerator but that would be too mild.

That's more in arow than the Knuckles this season. It's currently 0c egg grogs @ the pond in south Sardis and clear.

I remember that one we were living in Coquitlam up on King Albert, l remember it was the Elvis's birthday event or it just ended the day of.
I remember hearing John Paschold mentioning a record @ YVR for snowfall in a day l believe.

I agree Van man, when l was younger and a snowfall busted it was perhaps more disappointing as a kid but l had my friends to get over it quickly.
Difference now is just maturity TBH if it's going to affect you that much than you have mental issues someone on here brought that up before regarding some members on the AF.
