Both are not very good anymore, but 1130 has gone to hell. Z95? Well it's for kids anyway, so they will say anything on air to try to excite people.

Nowadays seems like they've got all the angles covered especially with borderline events when they mention the different possibilities due to area, elevation, etc.
November 2006 probably the last big snowfall surprise. Flurries with 2-4cm was the prediction and we ended up with ten times that amount.

With comedy being Norm Grohman's first love , I wonder if anyone knows weather(intentional spelling) he was an actual meteorologist.

Ok , but I was thinking more in way of a total surprise snowfall where they had no idea it was gonna be cold enough to produce anything white.

That was the best and most intense snowstorm I've ever experienced, and I grew up in Prince George. Really was something spectacular.

I didn't study the models back then but I remember Environment Canada's sudden forecast change from flurries to heavy snow with up to 50cm.

Abbotsford recorded 44.1cm of snow in a 24 hour period, which was the most snow since December 30th 1990, when 43.8cm fell. Both of those storms came close but didn't quite exceed the record snowfall of 49.8cm which fell on January 21st 1954.

It would be awesome to see a repeat but the setups that produce 40+cm in a single day are rare around here. That's something much more common back east in the Maritimes.

My 15 lb cat walks over me in the middle of the night looking for the warmest place to sleep.
We actually have two, they are brothers. And they're about 6 months old. Absolute cuddle fiends, like we got them to live outdoors and hunt rats and mice but they're about 70% indoors due to how amazing they are. Unfortunately they've got cones on now but they still seem happy somehow.

Cats are the best.

Yeah I'll take that. GEM is on its own for now.
