The province continues to get a failing grade when it comes to their handling of extreme weather, HOWEVER...

At some point the bus company has to take responsibility for the safety of its passengers and say nope. I mean I believe EBus has been amazing in the absence of Greyhound but driving in those conditions seems like a fatal mistake. This could cause major policy changes in how busses are allowed to operate. I also wouldn't be surprised if EBus gets sued out of business which would suck for a lot of people but I really couldn't blame any victims for doing it.

Sucks all around.

It's a low that should be watched for sure. While it's so far not modelled to take a track favourable for a lower mainland windstorm, it wouldn't take much adjustments for this to turn into a major wind event for our region. You made a good point in that stronger lows tend to track northward, so it's entirely possible that this storm ends up taking a more favourable windstorm track. Seeing it stall, then dive SE, and then suddenly move NW is a bit bizarre for such a strong low. I'm not convinced the models are handling its track very well. Hopefully we get some more clarity soon.

Abby_wx wrote: Sun Dec 25, 2022 5:08 pm I put this outside Thursday afternoon before the storm... 83.7 mm. I'm guessing about 14 mm was snow/ice pellets. The rest was probably half freezing rain and half regular rain.

13 cm of snow remaining.
Nice Abbs Sr. l've got 18cm approximately left, main roads bare and wet side streets slushy but also bare pavement too.
So glad we dodged a bullet in the Fraser valley for a major ice storm.
Also the break with the rain has helped no major road flooding in Chilliwack that l heard of.
Also a little concerned about your Cacti there Abbs Sr. kinda looks like it's ready to bolt. :wtf:
