McDavid = Gretzky
Bedard = Lemieux

I was thinking more of a MacKinnon but maybe Lemieux is realistic.
I'm going to the Canucks game tonight. I feel pretty conflicted. I want a high draft pick even if not Bedard. 15th won't do. We need some life injected in here.

You know, I'm not sure if Rutherford's record and trades are even all that great, just because he won a cup or two with Sidney Crosby . And at his age and the mess the franchise is in why on earth did he even want to come here? I guess he thought it was an easy retool fix just like Benning. The more things change the more they stay the same. Anyways enjoy the game..I think

It's just hopeless. Everything we do automatically turns to crap. Worst case scenario playing out with that trade. I really expected more out of Garland, now he's a salary dump.

Come to think of it, wasn't Benning's main attribute his drafting prowess before he arrived? So far basically all they got to show for 8 years of jim's drafting is Pettersson, Hughes, Boeser, and Demko. The jury is still out on Boeser and Demko(injuries), and not counting Podkolzin,Hoglander and Rathbone as they are in the minors and who knows if they'll pan out. So Benning pretty well failed at everything, trades, free agents, drafting, PR, etc. Unfortunately we'll have to wait several more years now to see if current regime's draft record is any better,not off to a good start with 1st rounder Lekkerimaki. I'm guessing that at least half the roster of most NHL teams are their own draft picks..not us.

Wow. Not only do the Canucks suck beyond comprehension but the non stop rumours and drama is absolutely exhausting. Only Bedard could save this situation and honestly probably still couldn't. Without a new owner we are doomed forever.
