I'm on mobile. Using Google chrome. I hardly get logged out. Maybe once in awhile. But it legit takes one click to log back in (literally just type the first letter of my username and everything autofills). Think everyone is being over dramatic. Your bank info doesn't stay logged in all the time. Your phone isn't always unlocked. Takes the same amount of time to do that as it does to log back into the forum.

Re: January 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
When I get logged out, I've usually written a post and then I go to submit it and find out I need to login again. Upon doing so, the post I've written is gone and I have to start over from scratch. The other day I wrote a post, went to attach an image, and it failed to upload because I was automatically logged out. As a result, I lost my post and I did not have time to rewrite it because my break at work was almost over. This was frustrating.Ovonucks wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 10:31 pm I'm on mobile. Of course I understand there are technical difficulties beyond anyones control and I appreciate all the hard work Stuffy puts in to keep this site running smooth. But that doesn't mean its not frustrating when things don't work as intended.
My point is that I don't think it's being over dramatic to find it frustrating to be automatically logged out in the short duration it takes to write a post. Having to log in over and over again hoping to be able to submit your post before it logs you out again is rather annoying.

Good point. I'm on Chrome on both my laptop and android tablet and not getting logged out. Fingers crossed I haven't jinxed it.

Usually open different browser then go back to Chrome still logged in,
It's how you use it as they say.

Re: January 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
The website has not logged me out on any device or browser since I discovered the http:// vs the https:// difference, even though I get the old logo and the phpBB default logo depending on which device I'm on.
What I discovered personally was that if I use the unsecured http version (the browser will give you an indication that it's unsecured in the address bar, in the form of a caution sign or an unlocked padlock symbol), I will get logged out every time.
If I use the secured https version (the padlock logo will appear locked), I do not get logged out. I have since updated my favourites/history across the board to all reflect the https version so that I do not accidentally open the forum in the unsecured version. I have not been logged out anywhere since.

I think to Kells cold dry popcornPortKells wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 4:17 pm This has to be the most under-hyped arctic outbreak i've seen here. Maybe we've been spoiled the last couple of years with the craziness of Dec 2021 and 2022.
GEFS totals still suggesting we get some sort of dump around the 6th. That's a while to wait and we'll see if it actually pans out.

Re: January 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
Everyone? Lol literally only one person said it was annoying while the rest of just said yeah it's happening as well. My accounts to other forums ( Weather, Sports, Reddit) things I visit daily actually does stay logged in all the time. Can't compare someone's sensitive information that they don't check everyday (Bank app) to a forum lolOvonucks wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 10:31 pm I'm on mobile. Using Google chrome. I don't mind logging in all the time but I can why it would become annoying to do 6 times a day, Especially when that was never a issue before or when we are in middle of a snow day.
