Re: February 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
This is a first: There was a solid dusting on the ground when I went to bed last night. This morning, almost none of it remains. It was below freezing all night. Dry outflow wind at work. -3.3ËšC.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Ya that's why I didn't care if I got any snow, I knew it would blow away in this insane outflow.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 7:31 am This is a first: There was a solid dusting on the ground when I went to bed last night. Re: February 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
Currently -4.1c DP -17.7c
Overnight low -4.3c
It was fairly breezy last night with the outflow. This area is usually sheltered from the stronger outflow winds but not so much with this round.

Re: February 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
This is from a post this morning, accompanied by the photo, on the 'Vancouver Island Weather Enthusiasts' FB page - 'Parksville at 6:20 am, definitely was not expecting this much! And its still goin'
Methinks Straight Effect Snow...like we've see there many times before. There was a report late yesterday evening of over 30 cms on the higher ground above Lantzville, north of Nanaimo. A couple more snowfalls reported this morning - 'Over 2 feet in Nanoose bay' and 'We have at least 16" in Coombs'
Only 3 cm on the ground in Cow Bay this morning. The wind came up pretty strong overnight so some of it blew away.
