Pretty much spot-on. That map has a -2 on top of me and my thermometer reads -2.2ËšC right now. Overnight low was -4.4.
It's called clown range for a reason.

It was the perfect day to mow the front lawn yesterday. Probably the best day until late April considering the low RH.

Temperature warmed up from -2.3 at 6am to -1.7 now. Not a good sign at all. And my phone shows it will be +2 around noon when the snow arrives. I think it will be marginal for my location and will be lucky if I end up with 5cm by tomorrow morning.

Re: February 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
You could be right but like someone mentioned, +2 isn't that bad when you take into account evaporative cooling. The system isn't bringing much warmer air with it since it's coming from the NW, so its not a traditional "overrunning" situation. I still say 10 cm minimum down there but who knows.Pumpkin Seed wrote: ↑Sat Feb 25, 2023 7:48 am Temperature warmed up from -2.3 at 6am to -1.7 now. Not a good sign at all. Re: February 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
Have faith. Temps will cool off in a hurry with precip and dew points being low. It really wasn't supposed to be that cold this morning anyway. Temps always bump up as the clouds roll in. This has all been modeled, none of these "bad signs" are unexpected.Pumpkin Seed wrote: ↑Sat Feb 25, 2023 7:48 am Temperature warmed up from -2.3 at 6am to -1.7 now. Not a good sign at all. Re: February 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
Looking at the HRRR, NAM 3km, HRDPS, ECMWF, and GFS, model consensus is that the action begins some time between 3:00 PM and sunset. GFS is an outlier and says we should see flakes flying around noon.

Re: February 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
I think those numbers are on the low side. ECMWF, GFS, and NAM 3km Kuchera maps all call for more.
P.S. GEM calls for more, too.

12Z GEM now has a map out for tomorrow morning at this time. It’s very snowy.
