Yes around 1a.m. there were afew snowshowers that went through some areas of Surrey, Metro Van and the Fraser valley albeit brief.

Hawk wrote: Mon Feb 27, 2023 2:39 am Few tiny flakes falling..dry snow..floating lightly as they fall. Just enough to see white dots on dark parked vehicles under the street light. Maybe 4 to 5 flakes per sq inch. Flake size 2 to 3 mm.
That’s about what I got IMBY. At first I wrote it off as merely frost but on closer example there’s a few flakes in there. So technically the models were correct: there was a trace of snow overnight.

Currently -0.5ËšC after a low of -0.8. Side streets are as expected a total icy mess. Glad that today is a work from home day.

Time to complete the 100 cm dash!

(Then again if I'd accurately measured all the events I'm probably over 100 already)

Given the how the GFS just trended, maybe more. We shall see.

Overall, it is hard to have any complaints about this winter. Worst aspect has been a dud January, but can’t have it all.

After yesterday’s discussion about snowfall measuring methods, I feel a lot better about my results during the December storm. I wasn’t on the low end of accumulations for that one after all, was probably somewhere in the middle of the pack. And I was definitely on the high end with last Saturday night’s snowfall. Really glad to live near a ridgetop instead of down in the sad lands!

12Z GEM not finished yet but looking good for Metro Vancouver.

Update: More maps now out, and what is being snow below is about as much as we get.
