Radar may be operating in clear air or snow mode today hence why it's showing intense precip. We had some yellow move over us and it was partly cloudy.

I think if you were all a bit higher up you might have been absolutely nuked like I was. Too bad it was wet and didn’t stick. It was coming down like I haven’t seen all year. Massive flakes and it went on for a good hour. Snowed for about 2 hours total I’d say. Sadly all wet and melted on contact.
Burnaby Mountain @ 365 m..

Stats? Fresh out of those. But I win anyway. I got all the inches.

It's to bad there's no mechanism to bring the arctic puff down It's plenty cold north of it.

I was thinking about areas that hang onto snow on the ground longer than other areas.
This past week most areas in the lower mainland pretty much had the same amount of cloud sun and temps for the most part.
My theory is type of ground for instance the central valley is composed of a spongey top soil due to the water table underneath same for Richmond south Delta Lander and Tsawwassen areas,.
Areas like Maple Ridge west is most likely rock so the ground is cooler l'm guessing Mrs. Leighbugs mentioned her snow hangs on metro Vancouver the north shore would fit in that category for ground cover.
However Abby is a strange one it has to be the south wind is their snow eater not the ground or its the 10th wonder of the world.
Any thoughts on if ground make up makes a difference.

No it’s the temperature and sun light less shade more melting. Wind can also eat snow faster if
It’s warmer.

O. K. ?

The snowpack has all but melted here on LangleyBump. The last two days has had a devastating effect on the snowpack. But that was a good run for the end of february. It looks like we may see some more wet flurries over the next few days but it sure would be nice to get a bommy Ridge in here asap. We can easily hit 18c with one
Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++ 8-)

Unfortunately it looks drizzly or cloudy. Those pesky cut off lows are too weak and far enough SW to prevent any organized bands of moisture from coming up here but there is zero mechanism upstream to really clear us out. Means tons of low clouds, drizzle and limited sunshine over the next week.

Northern OR and SW WA will see perodic wet snow chances during this timeframe though.

Sorry about that. I carry a March Snow Jinx with me. It has never, not once in 30+ seasons in the Pacific Northwest, snowed more than a fleeting dusting IMBY in March, wherever that backyard has happened to be.

It is the price you have to pay for my bringing two back-to-back winters with above snowfall to the Lower Mainland. Maybe I will visit one of my sisters next year to give the Lower Mainland a chance at March snow.

It's definitely looking like another soggy start to spring. Weeklies have below average heights out to April 10.

The way things were looking a week or two ago, I was expecting a frigid start to march. This is all your fault!

We will be fine Nito. Will be lots of sunshine over the next several days. It is sunny right now. Enjoy. Go for a run

Nito approved +10C with sunshine.

Even Bono must be thrilled with this!
