Cooler and wetter than average further east (Atlantic provinces) and to the south (New England, Mid-Atlantic and the SE US).
I wonder what the stats are in El Nino years for snow in Toronto, I'll have to look that up later.

Is this true ?

Generally, El Niño does not significantly impact eastern Canada, including the Maritimes, but it may reduce tropical cyclone activity in the Atlantic Ocean

Could be recency bias on my part, as I recall the eastern seaboard (including Atlantic Canada) getting slammed with multiple snowstorms during winter 2009-10 and 2014-15.

We're 10 days away from being at the max rate of daylight loss and then we will slowly start to decrease the amount we lose every day until the Winter solstice. We're 16 days away from the Autumn Equinox. #Cherryblossomssarecoming

Fair enough but that’s a far cry from defaulting to government conspiracy for every single thing. Sometimes the boring answer is the true one. In this case, the climate has been altered and things are unfolding about as predicted.

The showery days were not even close to enough to end the drought. It’ll take weeks.
