More a case of you being too far SE than a rain shadow, I would say. This AR is coming out of the WSW, and we are near the southern edge of it. A steep precipitation gradient is to be expected.

It is actually sunny, warm, and dry in Seattle today, believe it or not.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Rainiest 18 Oct at YVR was 35.8 mm in 1940. That record is sure to fall (probably already has).
