That period for cold/snow would be best like Jan/2012 and Jan/2020 can produce some real feel winter anything beyond that we are battling higher sun angles. :( :x It's currently 9c @ your home for New Years the pond in south Sardis.

12z GFS is showing quite the snow storm for the area next Friday.

However, we’ve seen this story before, the snow isn’t supported by the 925mb or 850mb temps.

At face value, that would do the job in January. I think there is a ridge bridge trying to form at the end, but it really depends on how that energy in the Bering Strait/Sea is handled.

Hawk wrote: Sat Dec 30, 2023 7:48 am Or..considering the climate trends of the last few decades..why not have a local ski operation with base of ~1500m and peaks of 2200m like Whistler..go above the bommy and mild winter weather
Finally we get to the root of the problem. And in 20 years when those resorts are high and dry we can simply build taller mountains and ski at 5000m for 20 years and so on.

Yeah with those maps you can’t have any green over the LM or it might as well be all green sadly.

Yeah, 500m snow levels means some good quality snow. I suspect they need about a 40cm dump for a good base followed by another 100cm to open up all the runs. They will probably be making snow 24/7 once the temp drops.
