I was toying with driving to the Lower Seymour Conservation area and taking a walk as the snow came in this afternoon (models were showing the North Shore should do well), but shelved the idea because I didn’t want to be part of a traffic nightmare later.

I wanted to go out as well, but I'm like, I really don't want to take the risk of being stuck. lol, just not worth it.

Euro/NAM did pretty well here. Areas exposed to the outflow didn't really see snowflakes. It always had potential along the mountains, Eastern Fraser Valley (Hope and Bridal Falls) and Western Metro Vancouver.

GFS and GEM

Richmond did decent.

HRDPS picked up on the pattern pretty well, too. And even the GFS consistently showed more north of the Fraser. There was a pretty clear pattern in the models, which is why I was so optimistic about my chances today.

Tbh, you probably shouldn't have said anything because the post wasn't rude or anything. That creates drama. I know you mean well, so I know it isn't meant to be rude, but jumping into things can make things worse. Especially when the post isn't about you or directed towards you.

Well I was sticking up for another member. Should I have stayed out of it? Not if I felt another member was being insulted. Should I have been more careful to get my facts straight before making assumptions? Yes, and I apologize for that. Now back to the weather.

Yikes.. the ice is already creating accidents

That is the current scene in Coquitlam also. Blue Mountain (a main 2 lane road) is complete ice and people are coming down like that. Same thing with the next hill over, Marmont. They really should close the hills down. Up top it looks clear but by the time you get to half way point and to the bottom it is complete ice. Snow tires or not... its not going to be pretty... unless you have studded tires.

I had to take quite the detour to get home just now.
