Looks like many stations in Southern BC are right around their forecasted lows already.

EC sneakily dropped YVR's forecast low to -14 about a half hour ago, probably figured an adjustment was needed after noticing what you noticed.

The 00Z GEM pushes Tuesday nights low south limiting snowfall to a few cm's. However, it also keeps us at or below freezing through next Thursday.

But l want to see some snow we'll probably just moderate out of this with zilch Jr. man.

That month Feb 89 featured some marginal snowfalls especially in Richmond were l was residing at the time.
We had a couple of reloads it warmed abit in week 3 and then on March 1st we got hit with a Lion of a Arctic blast with snow and cold for afew day's.

I think you're about a month delayed. Jan 1989 had plenty of marginal snowfalls... lots of cold rain that month as well. Lawn piles lasted for weeks. We got hit with the extreme arctic blast right as Feb hit. Was dry for the first few weeks and gradually warmed (cold nights and days above freezing) as the offshore ridge moved overhead.

Though we did also get hit again on March 1st with temps near below -5c and a dump of snow.

Yes l recall Jan/89 was chilly and slushy at times didn't we have a snowfall the first week or so of January Tfreeze.

Suppression depression! Would be nice to see a trend to extend the cold and keep our streak of seeing ice on the Fraser intact.

Yes you were correct, but remember Jr. Man called for a Arctic outbreak in January due to the SSW that was like back in early December he nailed this event he wasn't sure how strong but he's learning to predict very well we will miss him once he leaves for Ottawa.

Don't worry, I'll still be active on here on a regular basis providing forecasts for both the PNW as well as my new location in Ottawa.

I do expect a lot of when the December 1968/69 repeat occurs in the PNW during my first winter in Ottawa.

Sure would but I still want a big snowstorm. Maybe December 2, 2007 style? A nice 30cm dump before the warm rains return?

I'm obviously wish casting here because its highly unlikely we manage a big 30cm snowfall but it sure would be a nice add on to this top tier cold.
